Shaykh Mohammed As'ad Ali teaches the Islamic sciences, delivers sermons and lectures, counsels individuals and couples, advises families and mentors young people and professionals. His work is about helping people understand Islam and apply it to real life.
His journey began at home under his parents, both scholars who have served the Muslim community in Sheffield for several decades. He memorised the Qur'an alongside his foundational Islamic studies, then devoted six years to the intensive study of the traditional Islamic sciences at Jamia al-Karam under Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada and other senior scholars — Arabic language and grammar, rhetoric, logic, theology, Islamic law and legal theory, philosophy, Hadith and Qur'anic sciences.
He continued his studies internationally, including at Al-Azhar University in Cairo and in the blessed city of Madinah, and has received ijazah and authorisation in the recitation and transmission of the Qur'an through teachers in Cairo, Madinah and Lahore.
Today he serves as an imam and khateeb, teaches classical texts, delivers lectures and seminars internationally, and provides marriage, relationship and pastoral counselling. He is also Imam at Medology, a global healthcare leadership community, and director of Imdadiyyah in Sheffield. Through his institutes, programmes and online platforms he has taught thousands of people worldwide.
